Wetting Agents And Adhesives For Tablets

Some drug powder itself has viscosity, only the proper liquid can be added to the intrinsic viscosity of its own, when the added liquid is called the wetting agent; some drug powder itself does not have viscosity or viscosity, and needs to add starch pulp and other adhesives to make it glued together. Adhesives are called adhesives.

Distilled water is a wetting agent. As the material often absorbs the water faster. It is better to use low concentration starch or ethanol instead of wetting.

Ethanol and ethanol are also a kind of wetting agent. It can be used to decompose drugs easily, and can also be used for drugs with too much water. It is generally 30% ~70%.

Starch slurry is the most commonly used adhesive in tablets. The main methods of making starch slurry are boiling and flushing two ways.

4. Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-Na) is used as an adhesive and is often used in poorly compressible drugs.

Hydroxypropyl cellulose (HpC) is used as a binder for wet granulation. It can also be used as a binder for powder direct compression.
